But before we get into booking your CBT test, we’d like to take a moment to talk about what Motorcycle CBT is, why you’ll need it, and why it’s important to choose a top training provider.
CBT stands for compulsory basic training and represents the first step towards getting your motorbike licence. You must undergo this basic training before you can ride a motorbike or moped to demonstrate a clear understanding of basic safety protocols.
It’s important to note that CBT isn’t a test in the traditional sense. You don’t pass or fail. That said, you do get a certificate showing that you’ve had the training and you’ll be legally allowed to ride motorcycles up to 125cc for two years, during which time you’ll be expected to take your full motorcycle test or take CBT again.
Please note that CBT is not the same as a motorbike licence. You will still be expected to display an L plate at all times when on the road.
CBT exists for the safety of both you and other drivers. Because you can’t technically fail your CBT, a poor school is under little obligation to ensure that you’ve understood all the training. In practice, this is dangerous for everyone but particularly for you.

Furthermore we always ensure that all training has been clearly understood. Last but not least, we require our students to have read the highway code before attending. Without this information you simply won’t be equipped with the knowledge to drive safely.
